Becoming an apprentice plasterer can be quite overwhelming. It is important to make sure you have all your health & safety knowledge and make sure you can follow instructions thoroughly, for your safety and your co-workers.

Amongst getting to grips with the ins and outs of plastering and working in a construction environment, you will also need to get yourself some decent tools to work with - but what should an apprentice be looking to add to their kit?

The bare minimum an apprentice would be expected to have in their tool kit to be capable of learning the plastering craft are as follows:

  • Plastering Trowel
  • Bucket Trowel
  • Hawk
  • Water Brush
  • Corner Trowel.

These are only the very basics that would be suitable for a brand new apprentice learning the very basic ropes of plastering. However, as you go on and your skills advance and improve, you will add further tools to your kit. As a starting point all of the above are perfect for plastering basics.
