A lightweight air-drying, multi-purpose, easy mixing, low shrinkage compound for bedding tapes and finishing joints. Allows complete jointing operations by either hand or machine application.
Ensure all boards are securely fixed & all protruding screws are counter sunk
Any damaged boards must be repaired before you start
Any superficial damage can be removed by rubbing down with fine sandpaper
Any joints larger than 5mm can be repaired by using Arrow Fast Set Joint Filler
Good jointing cannot cover up bad boarding
Mixing
Arrow A4 Ready Mix comes supplied ready mixed at a consistency for hand and machine application
Always stir before use
Dilute if necessary using clean water and using no more than 1 litre per box
In case of any liquid separation, re-mix until smooth consistency is achieved
Avoid excessive mechanical mixing and only low-speed mixers are advised to be used
Application & Fixing
Arrow A4 Ready Mix is for hand & machine application
Ideal for use with perforated tapes, self-adhesive tapes & metal angle tapes
TIP:- On internal angles the paper jointing tape should be folded along the crease provided and the tape embedded into the product, as described below. Avoid any build up of material under the tape at the apex of the corner. A metal corner tape or drylining angle bead is always recommended when doing external corners.
Hand Application
Apply Arrow A4 Ready Mix to the trough of the tapered edge joints, ensuring sufficient material is applied to cover the width of the jointing tape being used
Centre the tape over the joint & press down with a jointing knife into the applied product, using sufficient pressure to free trapped air bubbles
Leave enough material under the tape to ensure good adhesion & remove any excess material from the edges with a jointing knife
Immediately after the tape has been fixed & the compound has fully dried, apply further coats of Arrow A4 Ready Mix over the tape in a continuous operation progressing from 180mm to 250mm or 300mm
Always allow Arrow A4 Ready Mix to fully dry between coats
Make flush with the surface of the plasterboard, fully encapsulating the tape using a jointing knife
The final finish may be slightly sanded
Machine Application
It is normal that the mechanical equipment applying the jointing tape will automatically dispense the correct amount of Arrow A4 Ready Mix underneath the tape
Centre the machine over the joint & then apply the first application
Leave enough material under the tape to ensure good adhesion & remove any excess material from the edges & wipe down using a jointing knife
Immediately after the tape has been fixed & Arrow A4 Ready Mix has fully dried, apply further coats of product over the tape in a continuous operation progressing from 180mm to 250mm or 300mm
Always allow Arrow A4 Ready Mix to fully dry between coats
Make flush with the surface of the plasterboard, fully encapsulating the tape using a jointing knife
The final finish may be lightly sanded
