British Gypsum Thistle Bond-It 10 Litres 09944/1

It has many advantages over PVA and is the only bonding agent recommended for use with Thistle gypsum plasters (excluding Thistle HardWall). It provides a chemical key as well as creating a mechanical key with the included aggregate particles.

Preparation

All surfaces should be thoroughly cleaned, free from dust, grease, protected from the elements and allowed to dry before pre-treatment. Backgrounds such as ceramic tiles, glazed bricks, exceptionally smooth concrete or concrete made from limestone, brick, granite and certain lightweight aggregates, will require preparation and pre-treatment with Thistle Bond-it bonding agent prior to plastering. Thistle Bond-it is applied in one coat by roller or brush onto the background. No dilution is required, ensuring consistent product application. Green in colour to aid identification of treated areas

Application

Plaster is applied when Thistle Bond-it is dry, allowing flexible timing of application. Plaster can be applied at normal thickness, i.e. up to 13mm, maximum 8mm on soffits. Care should be taken not exceed the recommended plaster thickness otherwise bond failure may occur.
